Achievement Testing ServiceGirl looking over shoulder

Odyssey Academy utilizes the MAPS (Measures for Academic Progress test) produced by the Northwest Evaluation Association. Utilized by more than 2,400 school districts nationwide, the test covers three subject areas: Reading, Mathematics and Language Usage. Students complete the test online. Other well-know achievement tests place a time limit on each section often causing some students not to finish. With the MAP test, there is a time limit of four hours to complete the entire test.

The MAP uses adaptive computerized technology. In standardized achievement testing, each grade level student takes the exact same test. MAP will start at the student's grade level and then adjust-adapt- according to the student's ability. If questions are easy, it automatically raises the level of difficulty. If questions are hard, it lowers the level of difficulty. Students are able to make meaningful attempts at each question, so questions are never wasted.

End test results are an accurate measurement of what the student knows and needs to learn in the subject areas. In combination with our Switched-On assessment test, It allows our teachers to develop an accurate academic plan. A stable and valid measurement scale provides true assessment of ongoing progress of each student. The test results are maintained test after test allowing for true accurate assessment of the student's academic progress year after year.

Upon enrollment with Odyssey Academy, our staff will contact you to schedule a time for your student to complete the test.
